Online Applications & Tools [Week 8]

Quick and user-friendly. I like the clean and simple look of the interface.

From the many good templates available in Google Docs, I randomly did the following mock invite. Wasn't the fatest editor as it had to update changes in real-time. Loading a pic from the hard disk the slowest task. Via Google Doc's task buttons, I published the invite to my blog and also emailed it to myself. Blog no problems but the email didn't yield the best results. Only a link to the file published online is sent. The link opens the file in 'Google Doc' and is "shared" with recipients. That is, it is in editable mode with the task bar etc. visible. Not the best impression. All I want to send really is the picture file either pasted in the message or as an attachment. Doesn't make sense. Maybe I have to play around with it a bit more.

..10 mins later

okay, I know the problem. It opened up in editable mode because I was still logged into my blog which is linked to google docs, calendar, gmail etc. Log out, problem solved. However, it still doesn't present it in a attractive manner. The linked page shows the invite nestled to one side of the page and the google banner and 'sign in' to the other.

Here's another one which I think is kool. Really dig it's ease because I know how difficult it can be to create an online slideshow from scratch.
